Honey Lotus

Honey Lotus was established in 1994 as a family farming enterprise. It developed into a feedlot of around units where transportation of our own animals and feed become a viable option. In 2006 an opportunity to transport coal for Eskom arose, and we expanded our fleet with 3 back tipper units which operated primarily to Grootvlei Power Station. Shortages of coal at the Power Stations nationwide allowed Honey Lotus to expand rapidly. Our infrastructure and office gearing was transformed into a Transport company. Since 2009 we have acquired contracts as a Delivered Contractor at HCI Khusela and Universal Coal. Not only as a transport contractor but supplying plant equipment such as Front End Loaders and Excavators to some of the mines we service. Currently our fleet is 60 Side Tipper units that transport coal all over Mpumalanga and other commodities to and from the coast. We also have various Yellow Machines; 5 Komatsu WA 480-6 Front End Loaders, 1 Komatsu PC 300 Excavator, 1 Komatsu PC 200 Excavator, 1 Komatsu Dump Truck HM300-2, 1 Komatsu Grader GD675-5, TLB, 2 Grabs and other small equipment at various mines. In keeping with tradition we are also still involved in farming and have also diversified into property development. With current Governmental economic compliance's it was decided to offer a senior member of management shares in 2011 and in so doing have been able to obtain a level 4 BEE rating with ownership, which stands us in good stead when applying for future contracts.
