Hood By Air

New York based label Hood By Air was founded in 2007 by Shayne Oliver. First iterations of the concept were a magazine, an elusive runway collection, a party, a website, a whisper campaign. In 2013 Hood By Air became a ready to wear fashion label. 2014 LVMH prize winner and 2015 CFDA award winner, the label also known as HBA has made a place in the international fashion market as well as holding the attention of the original fans of the ready to wear concept. Shows and performances are essential to the ethos of the label. The Hood By Air stage is created by an ensemble of artists working in experimental music, image making, nightlife, and performance. Their work is grounded in radical interrogations of the body liberated from structures of the normal. Hood By Air's work subverts traditional divisions between authentic and global, male and female, insider/outsider, art and commerce.
