Hope Grows Garden
Hope Grows Garden was the brainchild of Kim Melillo. Kim opened up her garden to share with HopeKids, an organization that provides free activities for kids with life-threatening illnesses. It was at one of these events that Kim met a HopeKid, Macy Angileri. Macy was more interested in learning about the plants, how they grow, and everything about them. We were there several hours each time we were invited with HopeKids. Kim eventually gave Macy the keys to the garden and invited her come and go as she pleased. Over the next two years, Macy would go to the garden monthly, carefully tending to the plants. In May, 2018, Kim asked if she could "gift" Macy the garden, and have Macy and her family continue its original mission of benefiting HopeKids and HEALing house. Macy was honored, and we have made the garden a priority, seeking to turn it into an organization that gives to needy communities in the Phoenix area. Hope Grows Garden is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
