Hotel Continental Luanda

The Continental Hotel was inaugurated in 1955, being the date the owners, Maria Gift and Armando Nunes da Mata, and management was in charge of the chain of Hotels Eduardo VII. The initial project envisaged 71 rooms, restaurant, bar, reading room, solarium, service station and store, and immediately became a reference in Angolan hospitality. It should be noted that its early history was linked to the history of Portuguese civil aviation in Angola, while having been selected hotel to host crews of the first commercial flights carried out by TAP. The second phase of construction began in 2001, with the transformation of the Club in reception, reducing the administrative area and building meeting rooms. The installation of internet in all rooms has become a reality, cable first and later for wireless. In 2006 initiated the ISO certification for food safety, then implementing a quality management System. In 2007, due to increased demand for rooms, the Hotel Continental increased its capacity to 83 rooms, and in 2008 returned to make a difference by being the first Angolan hotel to obtain International certification ISO9001. Already in 2009, and given the increase in demand from the restaurant, it was decided to enlarge it, decreasing the ability of bar and transferring the business lounge for the smaller meeting room. Maintenance of certification in this hotel has been accompanied by a strong investment in the training of its cadres, on revitalization of its gradual structure and investment in new technologies, which has allowed a strong competitiveness in a recent competition, projecting into the future of the Hotel Continental even greater confidence, always with new arguments of distinction. The result of all this investment, is to be recognised for all our guests, And we are proud to announce that, for the second consecutive year (2013 and 2014), we are the Angola's Leading Hotel from World Travel Awards.
