The Housing Development Alliance (HDA) is a nonprofit affordable housing developer serving families across four counties in Eastern Kentucky. For 30 years, we have combined high-quality construction, workforce development, and long-term disaster recovery to strengthen the Appalachian community we call home. Our mission is simple: Use the power of housing to transform lives and build a brighter future for our community. Our goal is to build safe, affordable homes and create pathways to stability for the people of our region - especially low-income families and those rebuilding after the 2022 and 2025 floods. What We Do Affordable Homeownership & Home Repair We build new, energy-efficient homes and complete urgent home repairs for low-income families, seniors, and survivors of natural disasters. Disaster Recovery & Community Rebuilding From large-scale floods to long-term recovery, HDA provides construction leadership, community planning, and durable rebuilding solutions grounded in local expertise. Workforce Training Through Hope Building Our paid construction training program supports adults in substance use recovery as they gain skills, confidence, and employment in the trades. Volunteer Engagement We welcome skilled and corporate volunteer groups from across the country to help build homes and strengthen our community.
