Housing Squamish

Squamish is one of the fastest growing municipalities in British Columbia, growing three-times faster than the provincial average. We are expanding from a hidden gem to a dynamic community in the heart of the Sea to Sky. With this growth comes opportunity and challenge; specifically, developing housing for those in need in Squamish. We are here to act as a hub to support the Squamish community with the housing it needs; now and for generations to come. We are the Squamish Community Housing Society ('Housing Squamish'); a new organization rooted in the needs of the community. Our goal is to increase the amount of available housing that is stable, secure and inclusive in Squamish. We will do this by partnering with community housing partners, the District of Squamish, the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), the private sector, and the provincial and federal governments. In late 2023, we have launched the Society’s website, hired a new Executive Director, and confirmed a passionate and experienced community board of directors. Our next step is to secure additional funding and work to identify new housing opportunities.
