Human Rights Defenders Solidarity Networks (HRDSNET UGANDA LTD ) is an apolitical and Non Profit making Organization that was founded on the 1 st June, 2007. Its mission is to protect, promote and defend human rights and peace in Uganda. In the past we have been conducting training of trainers in human rights for Human Rights Defenders, refugee leaders and local citizens in Uganda; we carry out community dialogue sessions and interactive drama shows to educate refugees on Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) and human rights in general. Training on physical security with Refugee LGBTI Community. We engaged in capacity building of local leaders in targeted communities in Kampala where there is concentration of refugees. This is aimed at making community leaders know and respect the rights of others including refugees. We also conducted sessions of training of trainers on SGBV and human rights for selected urban refugee women leaders. Upon invitation we teach human rights in organizations and schools. Since its inception, HRDSNET UGANDA LTD has been operating within the premises of Amnesty International Regional Office in Kololo Kampala. However prior to the preparation towards Amnesty International exit from this country, we have moved since April 2012 to a permanent office in Bunga, Ggaba Road Kampala Uganda, which is not yet well equipped. We therefore need an office space that can be used for human rights training (as we do both indoor and outdoor training) as well as a documentary centre where our trainees and the public at large can access, tailoring center, space for Adult and child Language Learning. We also need books, especially human rights books, shelves, computers, printers and other office equipment and funds for our activities. We hence request your assistance in cash, kind or both to enable us realize our objectives.
