Hullbid

HullBID is an independent not-for-profit company that is business-led, operated by a management team, governed by a non-executive board and works closely with businesses and public sector partners to gain an 360 degree view of how Hull city centre is functioning. HullBID must secure a majority ballot every 5 years in order to charge a mandatory levy which supports and delivers a range of projects and events. We represent the interests of 845+ businesses and organisations and exist to help businesses in the city centre to sustainably grow and progress. Hull Business Improvement District (HullBID) has four key aims: To improve security The eyes and ears of the city centre – the HullBID two support officers patrol the city centre Monday - Friday and deter anti-social behaviour and deal with low-level crime as well as providing a friendly presence, assisting visitors and residents in the city. To improve communication We host a series of networking events, bringing the city centre businesses together, produce a quarterly newsletter, constantly update members with everything that’s going on in the city centre as well as supporting with lobbying, planning, licensing and offering general advice. To improve cleanliness We understand the effect that muck, mess and clutter can have on businesses and visitors to the city centre. We can help with mess in doorways and alleys, jet-washing pavements, removing fly-posters, touching up exterior paintwork and getting rid of graffiti - often early in the morning, before your business has opened. To improve business Our many and varied marketing initiatives are carefully thought out and measured to ensure maximum benefit to those businesses participating. More importantly, we always look at the bigger picture, especially when it comes to our events.the volume of footfall that is generated, the car parks and hotels utilised, the spend in other city establishments and the positive perceptions with which visitors are left.
