Human Rights and Science Kenya Ltd (HR & S Kenya Ltd) is a for-profit social enterprise providing practical entrepreneurship development, enterprise advisory, and applied research services in Kenya & across Sub-Saharan Africa. We work with economically active micro and small enterprises, including informal and semi-formal businesses, youth- and women-led enterprises, cooperatives, and community-based ventures. Our focus is not theory or one-off training, but hands-on business support that strengthens enterprise resilience, income stability, and long-term sustainability. Our core work includes entrepreneurship capacity building, business and enterprise diagnostics, Trade, program design and management, and impact measurement. We support entrepreneurs in areas such as R.O.P.E, business models, financial literacy, customer acquisition, branding and digital presence, operations, and compliance awareness. Delivery is done through structured workshops, cohort-based programs, clinics, and ongoing advisory engagements. HR & S Kenya manages structured enterprise-support systems, including RISE (resilience and enterprise strengthening) and ActionInvest, which links enterprise readiness to responsible, recoverable financing. We do not operate as a donor or grant-making body. Access to capital under ActionInvest is performance- and readiness-based, accompanied by advisory, monitoring, and accountability mechanisms. Our financing model is commercial and blended. We generate revenue through fee-based services paid by entrepreneurs and institutions, program participation or membership fees, and service contracts with partners. Partnerships are structured professionally to avoid dependency and ensure operational sustainability. HR & S Kenya is not an NGO or charity. We are a professional enterprise-support company operating in the impact economy—combining human rights principles, evidence-based decision-making, and commercial discipline to help African enterprises grow responsibly.
