Humanitarian Services Action Husa

Humanitarian Service Action (HuSA) is a refugee-led, community-based organization operating in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, Uganda, advancing inclusive education, child protection, and household resilience for displaced and host-community families. HuSA runs Model Schools (Nursery/ECD and Lower Primary) and implements a Household-Centered Transformative Learning Model that integrates quality education with child safeguarding, GBV prevention, livelihoods, climate action, and community systems strengthening. Our approach recognizes that sustainable learning is only possible when children, households, and communities are transformed together. Through our E-4Rs Framework (Entry, Relief, Recovery, Resilience & Reassurance), HuSA supports children from crisis through long-term stability and opportunity; while piloting innovations such as Waste-to-School, linking environmental action to learning and school sustainability. HuSA is currently in a pilot-to-scale phase, building evidence and partnerships to expand a locally led, durable model that enables vulnerable children to stay safe, learn, and rise out of poverty.
