Humans For Housing

Humans for Housing is a Portland-based nonprofit using storytelling and community engagement to shift the public narrative around homelessness and inspire lasting solutions. Our mission is: To uphold the inherent worth of all humans through storytelling, community engagement, and unrelenting advocacy for stable housing. We create films, exhibitions, public programs, and community partnerships that humanize the experiences of people facing housing insecurity. By elevating real stories and connecting audiences with meaningful opportunities for action, we work to build empathy, reduce stigma, and strengthen support for deeply affordable housing. Our work includes the award-winning documentary No Place to Grow Old and Dear Portland, a large-scale immersive exhibition launching in 2026. Beyond individual projects, we collaborate with service providers, policymakers, educators, and advocates to advance solutions that ensure everyone has a safe and stable place to call home.
