Hundertwasser Art Centre

Hundertwasser Art Centre is a landmark cultural institution in Whangārei, Te Tai Tokerau, bringing together art, architecture, ecology, and community. Home to the work and philosophy of visionary artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, and to contemporary Māori art through the Wairau Māori Art Gallery, the Centre is grounded in values of creativity, environmental responsibility, and care for people and place. Beyond being a visitor destination, the Hundertwasser Art Centre plays an active civic role, contributing to cultural vitality, education, regional identity, and the local economy. We work in partnership with businesses, iwi, educators, funders, and community organisations to deliver meaningful cultural, social, and learning outcomes for Te Tai Tokerau. We are committed to: Values-led governance and professional stewardship Long-term partnerships built on trust and shared purpose Supporting creativity, learning, and community connection Architecture and practice that reflect ecological responsibility The Hundertwasser Art Centre welcomes collaboration with organisations that value creativity, sustainability, and community impact.
