Huron County Community Foundation

The Huron County Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of the people of Huron County, Ohio. Established in 1997 as an affiliate fund of the Community Foundation of Lorain County (Ohio), in 2021 it became its own independent community foundation. The mission of the Huron County Community Foundation is to improve the quality of life in Huron County, Ohio, now and for generations to come, through charitable giving and connecting donors to community needs. In fulfilling its mission, the Huron County Community Foundation awards grants to programs in the fields of Education, Social Services, Arts and Culture, Civic Affairs, Health, and Economic Development. The Foundation looks to provide support to creative new and innovative programs that address fundamental or emerging community needs, or to expand existing successful programs in the identified fields of interest. Emphasis is given to programs that: – have the potential to become self-sustaining, community-supported initiatives – address community needs not currently being met totally or adequately – have the potential to capitalize on other resources within the community – requests that include collaborative efforts among organizations
