Hutopolis 胡同城

Hutopolis () is a research program that aims to investigate new boundaries for the urban development in China. Meaning an utopic city of Hutongs, Hutopolis (h-uto-polis), is a fictive collage of words coming from radically different backgrounds that reflect the cultural openness of the project. Hutopolis is an initiative of Giannantonio Bongiorno and “AQSO arquitectos office”, together with Eugenia Murialdo and a wide team of researchers, students and architects from Tsinghua University, Politecnico di Milano, University of Genoa, University of Valladolid, University of Valencia and with the support of Strelka Institute.
