I worked on issues related to earthquake engineering in the following locations: Induced earthquakes in Groningen province in The Netherlands. Reconstruction proposals after the Nepal 2015 earthquake. Kashmir, Balakot earthquake assessment. Earthquake resistant house design in Pakistan Himalayas. Tsunami reconstruction project in Sril Lanka and Indonesia. Peru, Concepcion earthquake reconstruction proposal. Reconstruction after the Yemen, Dhamar earthquake with innovative and effective structural designs. Housing development in rural Honduras. Translation and development of Ecuador earthquake code. On renewable energy I worked on the following projects: Small scale PV and battery station design for hot climates. Renewable energy and thermal insulation training for architects and engineers in Jordan. Biogas support programme in Nepal. Various cookstove designs, water heating and house heating projects in the Himalayas. On sanitation I developed technology and supported projects in Tamil Nadu, Tadjikistan and Pakistan. On house improvements I developed over 30 new structural and thermal insulation designs that were applied and commercialized by the population in the higher himalayas of Pakistan and Tadjikistan. I was part-time teacher in the Institute for Housing Studies (IHS) in Rotterdam on earthquake engineering. With the DGIS development aid programme in South America I dealt with many small enterprises and finance corporations, followed by on-the-job consultancies for small enterprise support. With the UNHabitat I worked in the DANIDA community participation programme for settlement improvement in both Kenya and Zambia and managed the training programme for settlement officers in Zambia. With the UNESCO regional office for education I worked on improved schoolbuilding design, and school building planning in the Sudan and west African countries of Senegal, Guinee Bissau, Mali, Upper Volta, Cameroun, Zaire, Gabon and Mauretania.
