Iaas Belgium

IAAS is the largest agricultural student association in the world. With members worldwide and representation in 54 countries, we promote the exchange of experience, wisdom, and ideas related to agriculture and life sciences. We organize conferences (such as the World Congress), symposia, and meetings across the globe. We also facilitate internships in agriculture & related sciences. IAAS believes we can change the lives of our members by creating connections between the professional world and students, as well as by highlighting the importance of agriculture and life sciences. Through all our activities, we provide practical and highly valuable experiences that members will later appreciate in their professional lives. Via IAAS, students gain independence, wisdom, a vast network, soft skills, and more. Our campaigns also focus on the Sustainable Development Goals, Women in Agriculture, Food Waste, Giving Back to the Community, and more. The Belgian branch was founded at the 1958 World Congress in Wageningen. Today in Belgium, we are represented among bioengineering students in Ghent, Leuven, and Louvain-la-Neuve. Together, we organize general assemblies, motivational weekends, international events, and an exchange week. During such a week, students from across Europe visit Belgium, where we guide them through company visits, workshops, soft-skill training, and, of course, cultural evenings. In return, we also get to participate in exchange weeks in other European countries, enjoying an educational and fun-filled experience. Our three local committees also organize numerous activities, including international food evenings (Trade Fairs), debates (GMOs, Nuclear Energy, etc.), symposia (World Water Day, Agriculture in Space, etc.), soft-skill workshops (How to Be a Leader, How to Motivate People, etc.), and cultural evenings.
