ICITEM, Instituto Científico y Tecnológico de México, is a nonprofit institution founded in 1995 by two researchers, Dr. Alejandro González Da Silva and Dr. Raúl Ortega Castellano, whose mission is to advance higher education through the use of information technology. Based in the vibrant city of Mexico City, our vision is to be acknowledged for our commitment to student success, innovation and enterprise, global reach, and strong local impact. Our aspiration is to help create great graduates, exceptional employees, dynamic citizens and enterprising leaders and we work closely with employers and partners to ensure that our graduates are ready for work, ready for life, and ready to seize the opportunities that lie ahead. We are a community of IT leaders and professionals working together to tackle challenges and leverage opportunities that are constantly evolving within higher education. Through various programs and activities, ICITEM and its members contribute to thought leadership on major issues, help clarify the current environment, document effective practices, and highlight how emerging trends and technologies may influence the evolution of IT in higher education. ICITEM members are at the crossroads of important higher education issues and address a spectrum of challenges including enterprise systems, strategic leadership, teaching and learning, cybersecurity, identity management, and more.
