Ict4cop Center

The ICT4COP Center aims to perform cutting-edge research and teaching on central issues related to community-based policing (COP) and post-conflict police reform. In doing so, the Center will develop and apply novel approaches to address current and emerging challenges related to the multitude of choices which can be made in policing, security provision and police reform in these difficult contexts. Understanding human security in post-conflict areas is at the core of this Center. Where conventional, top-down police reforms fail, Community-Based Policing (COP) holds promise – but also entails challenges. ICT4COP was a EU Horizon 2020 funded project (2015-2020) with The Norwegian University of Life sciences as project coordinator and Dr. Ingrid Nyborg as project leader. The project comprises 11 work packages. 11 case countries, spread across Latin-America, South-Eastern Europe, Africa, and South Asia.
