ID Computing has been providing hardware and software development services to the rail industry since 2003. We are engaged in all aspects of both vehicle and track-side based monitoring systems and can manage the complete data life-cycle from being captured by embedded real-time systems through to storage in a database and then analysis and reporting. We have developed applications for condition determined maintenance systems, track recording coaches, vehicle diagnostic tools and mathematical modelling. Over the couple of years, we have developed Indigo, a passenger ride monitoring device. These are currently installed on Virgin Pendolino trains and are being used by Network Rail to monitor and predict rough ride. Data is provided in real time, We are now working on further analysis and to discover other applications that Indigo can be used for. More recently we have pooled our expertise and experience into TrainScape. This tool allows Train Operators to automatically detect and report on events of interest in black-box data allowing them to gain useful insights into delay attribution and driver performance.
