Ide Cambodia

iDE has been active in Cambodia since 1994 with a focus on agriculture, climate and resilience, food security and nutrition, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). iDE Cambodia supports entrepreneurs and social enterprises, while facilitating the inclusive and resilient development of value chains and business models for affordable products and services in our target sectors. We have also introduced successful research and pilots on clean cookstoves and solid waste management, with a focus on plastic waste recycling and circularity. Our in-house Innovation Lab helps build the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cambodia by bringing the best practices in innovation and design – especially human-centered design thinking and tools - to serve the poor. With a market driven approach, iDE Cambodia has reached about 1.2 million households, approximately 6 million people. On average, our programs generate $150 of extra income per year per household. However, our current work on climate-smart horticulture development has increased the earnings of horticultural farmers by $1,870 a year on average, more than the annual income of the average Cambodian household. To achieve these results, iDE Cambodia partners with international donors, international and local NGOs, universities, the Cambodian Government, and a wide variety of private sector companies ranging from small business owners to multinational companies. We strive to increase incomes, improve livelihoods, and empower entrepreneurs to end poverty, while safeguarding the environment and natural resources. We believe that one entrepreneur can change their community and millions can change the world!
