Established in IGNIS Innovation Inc. was founded to further develop and commercialize the pioneering pixel circuit research for AMOLED backplanes begun at the University of Waterloo. Today the company is a leading intellectual property creator and technology developer in the emerging and fast growing Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED) display industry, part of the $100B flat panel display market. We provide innovative solutions (under license) to address the challenges faced by emissive display manufacturers including non-uniformity (“Mura”), image retention, and burn-in of images on the display. Our proprietary circuit design corrects for material weaknesses in the backplane, while a proprietary external compensation measurement system resolves OLED material challenges. IGNIS’ patented solutions enable a wide range of applications such as high dynamic range (HDR) smartphone, IT displays (laptop, tablet), TV, Virtual Reality (VR), Augment Reality (AR), automotive, medical and more.
