Illinois In Paris

Illinois in Paris is a study abroad program located in Paris, France, with students coming from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The program welcomes students of that university who come from all over the United States for a semester or a year. They will experience immersion into the French language and culture while completing courses they will transfer back to the US for their degrees. These courses are held at our Paris headquarters in the heart of the Latin Quarter, as well as at our partnering institutions in Paris (ESCP Europe, Paris Business school, Cours de civilisation française de la Sorbonne, Université Paris Cité). This program also provides students with professional and research experience - students complete a professional internship around Paris: in a middle/high school, through different NGOs, or even on urban farms. They also conduct a semester-long research project using their field experiences as a starting point. Even if students choose to take classes, or conduct their research, in English, French remains an instrumental part of their day-to-day lives. The overarching mission of this program is to prepare students for, and to raise their awareness towards, the different stakes that are at the focal points of different European and globalized major cities today. The program is steadfast in providing students with an intercultural and international education based on, but not limited to, important aspects of today's society: ecological, educational, environmental, and social.
