People, just by LOOKING at YOU arrive at a CONCLUSION - just by NOTICING something, they have DECIDED to work with you or NOT, consider you intelligent or not, trust worthy or not & they even DECIDE on your level of expertise. They look at you and they assign a VALUE depending on how they've judged. Judgement is impossible with a COMPARISON. They've compared you to something. All of this has little fact and is largely PERCEIVED. Your SUCCESS depends on a PERCEIVED VALUE. The best one can do in this scenario is to find a way to ENHANCE this PERCEIVED VALUE.
