Imani Care Foundation

Imani Care Foundation is a Ugandan non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening mental health, psychosocial wellbeing, and community resilience among children, caregivers, and educators in vulnerable and disaster-prone areas. Founded in 2024, Imani Care exists to bridge the gap between mental health awareness, practical psychosocial support, and sustainable resilience-building in rural communities. Our work focuses on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) — empowering children and their support networks to heal, learn, and thrive even amid crisis. Through school-based psychoeducation, community counselling, caregiver training, and innovative projects like the Eco-Wellness Hub in Sironko District, we create safe spaces that nurture both emotional wellbeing and environmental resilience. The Hub model integrates mental health care, education, and eco-design to support communities facing climate-related disasters such as mudslides and floods. In collaboration with Humanity Crew (Amsterdam) and local partners, Imani Care Foundation delivers MHPSS programs and capacity-building trainings aligned with the Preparedness Hub initiative. Our approach combines local cultural sensitivity with global humanitarian standards, ensuring that support is both inclusive and sustainable.
