ImpacTex recycles Textile Waste entirely onshore with nothing that enters our facility being shipped overseas for sorting, shredding, processing or manufacturing. The major benefit is that we are able to replace consumer and commercial products that have traditionally been made from virgin non-sustainable materials, such as polystyrene, corflute, fibreglass and cellulose. In April 2023 we initiated a world-first full-line process of collection, recovery and upcycling of uniforms, garments and textiles. The outcome of all this was Retex - a wholly NZ manufactured rigid panel product we create from 100% NZ textile waste that we recover and process right here in Onehunga, Auckland. Everything Retex is also 100% recyclable through us at end of life!
