Welcome to Impulse - a charity dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with neurological differences! Neurodivergent conditions, such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and Tourette's, can be challenging to navigate. The risk of becoming entangled with the criminal justice system is significant. An estimated 50% of the prison population is neurodivergent. The challenging symptoms of ADHD mean that 1 in 4 people entering police custody meets the criteria for an ADHD diagnosis. Unsupported ADHD costs the UK justice system at least £11.7 million annually. At Impulse, we have the solution - built for neurodivergent people by neurodivergent people! We actively identify individuals with these conditions and enable them to access diagnosis and treatment. We help neurodivergent people cope with and manage their difficulties, providing person-centred support. Alongside this, we empower them to achieve and lead pro-social paths. Our service is essential. We need to empower neurodivergent people to succeed. Ultimately, we believe that we can reduce crime and save public funds while protecting people.
