In House Studio & Store

In House is the print studio & online store founded by Hayley & Marcus Walters. Together they create collections of artwork at their studio that they develop into prints, patterns or products with the aim of making peoples homes beautiful. Over the last few years they have designed collections for Heals, Tate and Habitat. Hayley, a screen printer and Marcus, a graphic designer met in London and have shared a studio since moving to Stroud, ten years ago. They have previously worked together on print and textiles projects for Heals, Tate and Habitat and created In House as a name for their collaborations and commissioned artwork. During the past year, Marcus and Hayley have been developing new artworks and prints available to buy direct from their website - “Our focus is to continually evolve our artwork and find an application for it, whether it’s on a wall, a sofa or object. The starting point for each collection of artwork is always inspiration followed by experimentation. Our resource material is often made by hand, from drawing, collage or mark-making, sometimes fused with textures and patterns we have found in our environment.” “We use the print table in a disruptive and painterly way, cutting, cropping and layering our different artwork elements over each other to create results that are dynamic and unexpected. We catalogue each series of artworks which are then turned into limited ranges of products from home wares to clothing produced in house. It’s our aim to make each product sustainable and affordable” Marcus and Hayley continue to create new artworks and research new products to apply their artwork.
