Indian Dreams Foundation

The Indian Dreams Foundation (IDF) is a non-profit, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) launched in 2005 in Agra, India. IDF works primarily in the field of education, healthcare, and women empowerment, with consultative status at the UN ECOSOC. Through our projects, we seek to contribute to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 5 and 3, specifically targets 5.6 and 3.7. What makes IDF different? We focus on the holistic development of the lives we touch. This includes, but is not limited to, vocational training and specialist skills training (such as manufacturing sanitary pads). IDF wants to be the helping hand that guides those in need towards self-sufficiency: 1. WE CARE – COVID-19 Relief Project Dry ration support (Food kits, health kits) Cash grant Support Awareness generation (Social distancing & Proper handwashing techniques) 2. Women Connect Project (Project funded by Grand Challenge Canada (GCC)) Toll-free helpline for addressing women's concerns Self-Help Groups (including a sanitary pad manufacturing unit) Resource centers for provision of guidance on: Menstrual Health Management (MHM) Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) Early Child and Forced Marriage 3. Smiley Days Project Education and awareness of menstrual health and hygiene Construction of girl-friendly toilets Distribution of sanitary pads Appointment of Community representatives "SAKHI'' Organisation of ''Smiley Girls Club'' in schools 4. Honhar Ladki Sponsoring girls' education with the aim of: delaying the age of girls' marriage Improve girls’ retention rates in schools Develop leaders/ agents of change (Creating Girls' Champions for Change) Raise awareness of Menstrual Health & Hygiene So far, we have touched more than 7,500 lives.
