Indowarung

Indowarung is a grocery retail chain with services based on the people's economy and digital technology that assist small traditional retailers in Indonesia to be digitally connected with transparent and reliable supply chains in retailing their products. Indowarung was started in 2002 as a convenience store business in Yogyakarta. The company’s first outlet was in Sleman Regency and branding it as Indoasri that provides daily needs for local residents. In 2006, Indowarung ventured out into the wholesale trading and supply chain business. Soon after, Indowarung opened its first wholesale store in Bantul Regency for expanding from being solely in the convenience store business to the operation of wholesales store. Since then, Indowarung has been dealing and growing with the entire ecosystem of consumer products supply chains from customers, small retailers, suppliers, distributors to principals in Indonesia. In the span of twenty years, Indowarung grew to 3 wholesale stores serving more than traditional warung and 4 satellite stores across Special Region of Yogyakarta and its four regencies (Bantul, Gunung Kidul, Kulon Progo and Sleman). After going through all the challenges and the economic downturn during the pandemic, Indowarung successfully coming out with a profitable business and proven sustainable business practice model.
