Information Accessibility Research Association

Information Accessibility Research Association is a social entity organization founded in 2005. It is the first NGO in China which committed to promote Information Accessibility (Information Accessibility means anyone, no matter healthy or disabled, young or old, could access to get and use information equally, conveniently, freely in any case.) Its founder is the owner of China Charity Award and notable social entrepreneur Weining Zheng. In China, there are nearly 1300 million visually impaired people. Internet is an important approach for them to integrate with mainstream society.Our vision is to make everyone work and live in Information accessible environment, our mission is to accelerate the process of Information Accessibility construction. Since nine years ago, we have been doing research and practice, to try our best for a information accessible environment. What we have done: First, we launched China Information Accessibility Products Alliance and have been performing as secretariat. China Information Accessibility Products Alliance is founded by organizations that contributed to the construction of Information Accessibility Environment. The organizations including Information Accessibility Research Association, Alibaba, Baidu, Microsoft (China), Sina Microblog, CSDN etc. The supporting organization include W3C, IBM, etc. The alliance holds forum and salons relevant to Information Accessibility to help the Internet companies focus on Information Accessibility and participates in the development and revise of the relevant standards, as well as promoting the policy.Second, we organized the first Visually Impaired Information Accessibility Testing Engineer Team in China, offering Information Accessibility testing, consulting and optimizing service to put Information Accessibility into practice. We are looking for partners and consultants worldwide.
