Inserm Umr1069 N2cox

Labeled Inserm since 2002, the UMR 1069 "Nutrition, Growth and Cancer" is a multidisciplinary single team unit: biology, physiology, oncology, nutrition, preclinical studies and clinical investigation. The unit was recently evaluated by our tutelles and awarded the Inserm - University of Tours label for the 2024-2028 period as Inserm UMR 1069 N2COx "Niche, Nutrition, Cancer and Oxidative Metabolism". It is headed by Pr Christophe Vandier (Director) and Pr Olivier Hérault (Deputy Director). Our research project is a project of a multidisciplinary single team focused on lipids acting on tumour niches and on energy / oxydative metabolism and calcium signalling, able to prevent dysplasia, delay tumor progression and to increase the sensitivity of tumors to anti-cancer drugs. The objective of our bench to bedside project is to facilitate the transfer of fundamental knowledge to patients developing chemo-or hormone-resistant cancers and/or metastases and/or cancer-induced cachexia.
