Inside Out Coaching

I create a uniquely safe and confidential space for existing and emerging leaders to share their thoughts and feelings, unlocking their thinking, navigating pathways to success and being a cheerleader to them in their journey. I am an authentic coach with a relaxed yet challenging style of coaching with warmth, humour and support. With an extensive career in HR, I have successfully established and led people functions. When you work in HR you get a unique insight into a business and its leaders, which can sometimes be ugly. I reached the point in my life where my purpose shifted and I sought more fulfilment in the work I do. I was done working for bad employers and poor leadership and I made a deliberate choice to only work with ethical leaders who aspire to do, and be, better. I currently hold a People Director role and my sweet spot in this role is working individually with leaders. This led me to progress my coaching by undertaking a qualification and setting up my own practice, which I named “Inside Out Coaching”. The inspiration for the name came from a client who likened my coaching approach to Disney’s “Inside Out”. They saw themselves as Riley, filled with various emotions in the control room of their mind, and saw me as the one jumping in to help sort out the emotional characters, guiding them through their turmoil. I really connected to this endorsement of my approach as there has long been the notion that emotions don’t belong in the workplace. Yet emotions are something we all have which we shouldn’t have to ignore or supress. Additionally, in the context of leadership, “Inside Out Leadership” is a term that underscores the importance of inner reflection, personal growth and connection with one’s own values. Both the client’s analogy and my knowledge of the term, meant the name strongly resonated with me, reflecting my identity as a coach.
