Instar Learning Alliance

Instar Learning Alliance is an educational non-profit established in 2014, which grew out of the collective experiences of three women — women who felt a need to become actively involved in finding a way to have creative ideas of local community members make a positive difference. Instar is a term applied to a developmental stage of an insect or an individual. Somewhere between infancy and that nebulous state of self-actualization, we are all instars waiting to become all we can be. As parents and educators, we watch the unfolding of the special people in our lives and in our classrooms. Sometimes we forget that we molt many times in our lifetimes. We reach one goal and reach out for the next, bringing us closer and closer to what we always wanted to achieve. Learning reflects what we do. We teach a creative problem solving (CPS) process as a tool that can affect the future of individuals and their communities. In a world of immense challenges, there is no better tool than the ability to solve problems. Alliance is what we strive to become. It stands for the partnerships Instar builds with our workshop participants and our clients — local organizations and businesses — all working together to address challenges affecting resident communities. Currently, Instar Learning Alliance serves various communities located in Montgomery County, PA.
