Michael Caudill is managing partner of InterCultural Advantage, a provider of cultural competency consulting and training for health care, human service, and nonprofit organizations. InterCultural Advantage was the first consulting firm in the Carolinas recognized by Georgetown University’s National Center for Cultural Competence. InterCultural Advantage seminars include Cultural Competency & the Latino Patient; Curanderismo - Traditional Latino Folk Medicine; Nonprofits: Working Effectively in a Multicultural Environment; and Be Prepared! Crisis Communications for Nonprofits. Mr. Caudill originally trained as an RN and Mobil Intensive Care Nurse working in major trauma centers in Los Angeles & Washington DC. His career expanded to include positions in public affairs and disaster response with national and international relief organizations such as the American Red Cross and Pan American Health Organization/WHO. Work and studies have taken him across Europe, the Balkans, the Near East, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. Michael has a Master's degree in Intercultural Communication from American University’s School of International Service & a certificate in Traditional Latino Folk Medicine from the University of New Mexico. He teaches intercultural communication and crisis communication at Western Carolina University and courses in nonprofit management for Duke University.
