Pioneering Startup Company that began in the summer of 1992. Internet Publishing Technologies was one of the early leaders in the development of online web communities and portals. Based out of College Station Texas the company designed over web sites from 1992 to 1997 until it was acquired by TXU Communications out of Dallas Texas. Owner Alan Kurk specialized in all facets of web design, marketing, web server architecture, web application development and remote web camera systems as early as 1992. IPT was voted a top 5% web site from 1994 to 1997 and was one of the first sites to go national with the Presidential Election producing the first "Road to the White House" online virtual poling web site. Featured in several magazines and books the site gained in popularity and produced the first Cinemark.COm website which featured weekly free ticket give away via an automated random lottery application. Over registrants per week utilized this service. IPT also developed early online web banner specifications and developed one of the first CGI animated banners to run on the Internet. IPT trademarked the prNet web site that specialized in free online press release collection & distribution. Also IPT Trademarked the WebFax technology used early on to engage businesses with their customers on the Internet. This service allowed companies to accept online orders without yet having a knowledge of the Internet or an email account. Orders delivered to their fax machines.
