iIoTs, a group incubated by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi’s technology incubator Catalyst, is at the forefront of developing a patented low-cost system for sensing and warning against landslide disasters and environmental pollution. At an early stage, iIoTs holds the distinction of deploying a record number of landslide monitoring and warning systems at 15-different landslide locations in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. The system has already saved lives and infrastructure in the current monsoon season at the famous Kotropi landslide, where the system sounded an alarm just before a flash flood.
