Intle Art

Intle Art is a Hout Bay initiative that enables disadvantaged, talented and aspiring young artists, from across the Imizamo Yethu and Hangberg areas of Hout Bay, to learn and hone both artistic and business skills. Intle Art has been going since 2015 and operates from the Harvest Centre, next door to the Bay Harbour Market. Most of the 30 odd participants are teenagers with a passion and talent for art. In addition to producing a body of work for exhibition and sale, they also learn business and life skills that will better equip them for the careers or entrepreneurial endeavours they one day pursue. Intle Art remains alive through community support, small and corporate business sponsors, individual donations, volunteer services and, of course, the sheer need to continue adding value to its participants and their families.
