At IONLAB, we support low-volume and specialist vehicle manufacturers in developing electric powertrains — quickly, efficiently, and with a focus on real-world integration. Our team combines mechanical, electrical and software engineering, which allows us to deliver complete systems — motors, batteries, control units, and the software to make them work together. It’s a fully integrated approach, designed to reduce complexity and accelerate development. We’re currently building an electric Subaru STI for Ecotricity — a ground-up conversion using second-life EV components and bespoke software. Our in-house MINI project serves as a showcase for our modular architecture — compact, adaptable, and designed with scalability in mind. Our experience spans cars, motorcycles, and even non-road platforms like hovercrafts and amphibious vehicles. That variety has shaped how we think: flexible, focused, and always practical.
