Iris Dynamics Ltd, is a privately-owned Canadian advanced technology company with headquarters on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. We have patented a new class of variable force-feedback motion control systems that improve the human-machine interface. Iris Dynamics fully integrated, programmable back-drivable electromagnetic linear actuators are ideal for silent, very fast or low speeds, precise force sensitive motion applications. Our motors can be found in a wide range of applications where touch and collision events are important, force needs to be monitored or constantly applied (across line, edge or surface), tactile feedback, dynamic and high cycle positioning, measuring, fragile object handling, or weight detection is needed. We are also sponsoring advanced theoretical and applied electromagnetic research at two major Canadian universities. Applications for our technology include aircraft controls, flight simulation, remotely piloted vehicles, heavy equipment, submersibles, automotive, industrial automation, robotics, and semiconductor manufacturing.
