Irish Student Trampoline Open

The Irish Student Trampoline Open was founded in 2001, and has been very successfully running gymnastic trampoline competitions since 2002, over time becoming the biggest student based trampoline competition in Europe! Over 600 competitors including the numerous volunteer judges, score keepers, marshals & competition organizers are involved in the competition! Traditionally ISTO has been attended by 40 different Irish, Northern Irish, Welsh, Scottish & English clubs, however in recent years it has attracted interest internationally from French, Dutch & German trampoline clubs. Competitors at ISTO will potentially compete in disciplines of individual trampolining, synchronized trampolining, DMT & tumbling gymnastics. The competition aims to include all ability-level, from beginners who compete at novice level to our outstanding Elite competitors. Trampolining, an Olympic sport since in Sydney, does not yet have widespread recognition in Ireland. The competition provides a means for promoting competitive trampolining & gymnastics among students. Competitors prepare & train hard year round for this event in hopes of proving themselves on the international arena at a competition with such a high reputation. The competition is also vital as these students make up a large proportion of the country’s judges & coaches & have a huge influence on the future of the sport. ISTO continuously works alongside a charity both in regards to fundraising, and promoting & raising awareness throughout the year!
