The International Relations' Students Association is the student body of the Department of International Relations, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile ife which is a pioneer in the study of global and International Relations especially Political relations in West and Sub-Saharan Africa. The prestigious Department of International Relations remains one of the four departments which was created when the then institute of administration was converted into a faculty by a special resolution of the university senate on 5th march 1976. The student body (IRSA) was however established in 1986 as the need to focus exclusively on student issues within the department became very paramount, and since then has become a very prominent body within the student society on OAU campus. The International Relations Students Association alongside it's mother body (The department of International Relations) has been immensely involved in raising astute intellectuals and socially fit graduates across different fields of study within International relations and beyond which include but not limited to Media and Journalism, SDGs Advocacy, International community engagement, International business management, Human rights Advocacy, national and global politics, Technological advancement and innovation, Environmental protection, Development studies, Energy Politics and so much more. The Association remains ever committed to the welfare of her members as well as bringing out the best in every student within the department. It further expands it's commitment beyond it's campus borders to it's immediate community, Africa and the global community.
