ISHISH Publishing lets artists do what they do best: make art. ISHISH uses proceeds from the ISHISH store and private donations to support the publishing, production, and showing of emerging writers, musicians, and visual artists. Other publishing houses, galleries, and production companies rely upon the sale of the art, which means they are not able to take a chance on artists they deem “commercially unviable.” We’re different. Because ISHISH was founded and is directed by artists, we are committed to the uninhibited artistic process. This means we will never tell an artist to change their art to make it accessible to consumers. We will never even claim rights over any of the writing, music, or pieces we showcase or publish. The artists are free to write and create whatever they want - we're just here to provide a place to be read, seen, and heard. By keeping art and sales separate, we are able to support and encourage the best, weirdest, and riskiest emerging artists. We put the creation of art back into the hands of the artists. We want to see how far we can go.
