Jack Schofield

Jack Schofield is one of the UK's best known technology journalists. He started writing a weekly computer column for the Guardian in 1983, and joined the staff to launch the newspaper's computer section in 1985. This became part of the pioneering Online tabloid supplement in May 1994, which was renamed Technology with the Berliner relaunch. Schofield was also one of the Guardian’s first bloggers, launching the Onlineblog with Neil McIntosh in 2001. He also writes the Ask Jack column and blog, answering reader queries, and blogs at ZD Net. Before computing, Schofield edited photography magazines such as Photo Technique, Film Making, ZOOM, and You and Your Camera, and an early microcomputer magazine, Practical Computing. He has also written regular columns for Practical Photography, Computer Weekly, Personal Computer World, Trusted Reviews and many other publications. He has made too many media appearances to mention, but these include phone-ins for Capital Radio, BBC Radio London (with Robbie Vincent), LBC, You and Yours and the Today programme, and television appearances on BBC MicroLive, Sky, ITN News, and Al Jazeera.
