Jackson County Job and Family Services administers state, federal and local programs designed to assist those in need and help families work toward self-sufficiency. It is one of the largest county departments within Jackson County and reports to the Jackson County Board of Commissioners. The Agency is one of the few quadruple-combined public human service organizations in Ohio, providing public assistance, children’s services, child support, and workforce development programs to the community. Among the department’s many responsibilities: Child Protective Services (CPS), Adult Protective Services (APS), Child Care, Child Support Enforcement, Workforce Development (OhioMeansJobs), Cash Assistance (Ohio Works First), Food Assistance (SNAP), and medical assistance (Medicaid).
