Jackson County United Way is building a stronger community by creating long-lasting change! Statement on Accounting and Reporting Practices Jackson County United Way takes our role as a trusted community leader very seriously. As a result, we have a long tradition of adhering to very high standards of accountability and transparency. Independent Organization Jackson County United Way (JCUW) is an independent organization founded and governed by local volunteers to improve lives and strengthen our community. JCUW is a member of United Way of America and annually completes certification of strict membership requirements. Stringent Checks and Balances Jackson County United Way has a stringent system of checks and balances in place to ensure that it is operated in a sound fiscal manner. The organization’s operating budget as well as its community funding decisions are reviewed and approved by several volunteer committees, including the Board of Directors. United Way of America Membership Standards Designations will be assessed uncollectible and administrative fees in accordance with United Way of America Membership Standards
