Jaipur Rugs is a family business built on the fundamental principal of conserving ancestral know-how and connecting rural craftsmanship with global consumers, in a manner that spreads kindness and benefits all our stakeholders. It uses the age-old art of handmade carpets as a tool to bring prosperity to rural artisans of which 80% are women. Founded in 1978 by Nand Kishore Chaudhary with two looms, it now has over looms and sells in over 60 countries. Today the company creates contemporary works of art by collaborating with creative talents capable of showcasing this ancestral craft with a new vision. Our business combines the pursuit of profit with the spreading of kindness in a way that benefits all of our stakeholders: our consumers and their families, the artisans and their families, our employees, our suppliers, the buyers and channels we work with. Founder Nand Kishore Chaudhary inculcated in us a bedrock of values that combines kindness as our default demeanor, compassion for those around us, and the humility that everyone deserves dignity.
