James 127 Foundation

Anna Taylor's passion for empowering widows and orphans in Kenya led to the creation of the James127 Foundation, a 501(c)3 Certified Organization. Two things captured Anna Taylor’s attention in Kenya: the vibrant African aesthetic and the rampant poverty. In 2009, Anna and her family moved to Africa to work with an international nonprofit. While in Africa, she witnessed things that changed her life: she saw an orphan-run community where children grew crops to provide for themselves, and she saw the beauty of Africa. In 2010, Anna returned to the United States to go to college and enrolled in her first sewing class. She quickly realized her creativity could be used to help those in need. Anna’s love for Africa continued to influence her and the people continuously captivated her attention. On a trip back to Africa during her sophomore year of college, Anna saw women in the slums – mostly widows – desperate to provide for their children.This is when Anna knew – she wanted to help these women find joy and worth in their lives with a permanent solution. With the help of a Kenyan friend, the James127 Foundation was created and hope for the future was found
