I AM A LICENSED CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT AND SOLE PROPRIETOR OF THE FIRM OF JAMES SERIO, CPA SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN NOVEMBER 1997. While finishing my past few quarters of college, I began my career interning as an Accounting Clerk for a CPA firm in which the owner was also a partner in an Introducing Brokerage company which later grew to be a Non-Clearing Futures Commission Merchant. The CPA firm specialized in commodity futures accounting for commodity pools and traders. During this time, I took advantage of learning the brokerage/trading side of the business in order to understand the basics of trading which has given me a greater depth of understanding of commodities that benefits my clients. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Administration degree with a concentration of Accounting in June of 1993 and I continued to work for the CPA/Non-clearing FCM firm until I obtained my CPA license in November 1997 and decided to open my own firm. I am a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Texas and am also a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. MY PHILOSOPHY It is my belief that every client is important no matter how big and deserves to be treated with respect and courtesy. I’m also under the belief that as part of the monthly accounting preparation, you should have all the information as part of your records. That is why my monthly packages contain copies of all documents and work product that you provide as part of the monthly engagement.
