James Sherwin

James Sherwin provides a comprehensive service to create exceptionally and seamlessly well run environments, including households, hotels and other global hospitality businesses. His previous work has encompassed The Savoy, The Berkeley, Claridge's, The Connaught, The Lancaster in Paris, The Lygon Arms in Broadway, Hotel Hermitage in Monte Carlo, Party Planners with Lady Elizabeth Anson, The Carlyle New York as General Manager and The Mark New York, again as General Manager. In his years of experience in working in these deluxe institutions and private houses, James gathered a wide experience in attention to detail in looking after a revered clientele (including royalty, Presidents, Prime Ministers, celebrities, and dignitaries), achieving a very high repeat rate of business in each establishment with a loyal and well trained staff. In administering staff of up to 1,300 in one institution, to arranging the lives of visitors and clients when away from home, James arranged business meetings, social events and introductions where appropriate utilising his client base as well as the global fraternity of hospitality professionals in discretion. Creating cross marketing and PR opportunities with like-minded businesses which ensured the best exposure for each partner. The running of The Carlyle and latterly the re-opening of The Mark Hotel was a classic example of this which included Bang and Olufsen, John Lobb, Turnbull and Asser, Sotheby’s and Bentley to name a but a few. The re-opening of The Mark was a landmark experience inheriting a shell of a building and creating a business from scratch/start to finish, with a hand-picked staff of the best, in a very competitive market marrying the best of yester-year with today.
