Jill Abrams Tutoring Inc. is a privately owned business that specializes in teaching children with reading, comprehension, writing, and math difficulties (including dyslexia). Owner and founder, Jill Abrams, credits her own dyslexia as the reason she started tutoring and eventually founded The Reading Tutor. Given her ability to relate to her students’ learning experiences, Jill is able to connect with students and understand what they need to excel in their studies. When conventional tactics don’t work, Jill Abrams Tutoring Inc. explores specialized approaches to help children find success. The techniques used to support this learning style follow the Orton-Gillingham training curriculum which has been used for over 75 years to help children with learning differences. A variety of games and manipulatives are used that are geared towards lessons each student is working on. Each tutoring session reinforces taught concepts in a fun and engaging way. Dyslexia or processing issues have nothing to do with intelligence, they only provide a different and exciting path to learning.
